Alexandra Riley grew up as a single child, in a single parent home. Her father was a scholar, and a Watcher, at least until Al was born, when he quit active Watcher Duty ( He never had a Slayer of his own ) and became a field research agent, and a farmer. She excelled in her studies, eventually went off to college, and blew through her studies in half the time. She got her degree in Anthropoligical studies from Oxford, and then went on to join the council as a Watcher in Training. She was out on assignment (newly graduated to full Watcher Status), attempting to locate a missing potential ,when the Council building was attacked by the Bringers. Since then, she has been making attempts to reconnect with any remaining council members, and attempt to gather any missing Slayers/potentials since the Sunnydale Hell Mouth situation. She's currently working part time as a Professor of Anthropology in Hope Falls, at Woodrow Wilson Community College. She lives in a dinky one bedroom apartment and spends her free time doing a little social drinking, and occasionally hunting down the things that go bump in the night. Sadly, none of these things lead to large amounts of cash inflow. It just doesn't pay to be a goody-two-shoes-smarty-pants. Oh, and did we mention that Alex is a half demon? No, well, now we did. Beware the cat who hides it's claws.
